On behalf of the Steering Committee of the Future of Nursing – NYS, we welcome and strongly encourage your involvement in this effort to ensure that all New Yorkers have high quality, patient centered care in a system where nurses are essential partners. The Steering Committee's immediate priority is to establish a statewide Regional Action Coalition including nurses, other healthcare providers, consumers, healthcare employers, labor organizations, the corporate sectors and funders - indeed, all who have a role and stake in moving health care forward. Given the size and diversity of our state, the Steering Committee envisions development of seven geographically based regional action entities, along with statewide committees that will address each of the eight recommendations set forth in the IOM Report. We have identified four priority recommendations for immediate attention.
If you are interested in working on this important initiative, we encourage you to provide us with your name, contact information, organization and areas of interest. We hope you will become part of the Future of Nursing – NYS and the Campaign for Action. Join us in transforming health care!
On behalf of the Future of Nursing – NYS Steering Committee,
